New camera

The search is over, for now 😉

Bought another second hand video camera, since my fantastic little point-and-shoot seems to have gone over the digital rainbow.

This short sentence can in no way describe the amount of time and headache gone into research, forum visits and emails exchanged between fellow videophiles! And instead of spending too much, I spent less, which means: more for Australia 😉
Unfortunately it’s not really the model I really really wanted, but it should do the trick.

And for anyone interested, here are the contenders in case I win Lotto:

Canon XL 1

And its sister model up: Canon XL2:

And one from the competition:

Sony AVR-A1

These are of course not your handycam type of cameras, and something I’ll be aspiring to use. Until I do, this one will need to be discovered and mastered:

Canon NV-GS 500:

More, and hopefully first result in a week or so!

Finally!

ATP is coming down under.

I have to get there!  Well, not Mt.Buller, but Brisbane.

And here’s the image of the flyer for Brisbane:

And the Brisbane line up:

In Queensland, All Tomorrow’s Parties will present a series of one stands between January 12th – 16th at Brisbane arts & culture venue, The Powerhouse. Featured acts will include Fuck Buttons, Afrirampo and Harmonia with more to be announced. In addition to this, ATP will also present a larger afternoon/evening show on January 15th at the picturesque Brisbane Riverstage headlined by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and featuring Spiritualized, Robert Forster, James Blood Ulmer and others.

The full line-up for both the Powerhouse shows and The Riverstage will be announced prior to the on-sale date of October 13th.

The line up is fantastic, and I have more chances experiencing the whole shamboodle in Oz than anywhere else in the world.

Need money now, lots of money, donations welcome 😉

Warning: music video

Well, this gig has been the highlight of my music year so far: Fur Patrol @ Bodega Bar, Wellington, New Zealand!  I had seen them a year earlier at another venue, and was keen to see them in a different setting.

What a difference alright: I’m a bit more comfortable with my little dinky point and shoot camera with video function, and don’t mind the crush right in front of the stage! 😉

This is definitely my fav clip, the crowd hasn’t gone completely bonkers, Andrew seems to be playing just for me, Simon on the drums has the sexiest beat going, and Julia just keeps the whole thing together with her voice and the Rickenbacker.

Everything I love about music: funky beats, driving bass line and a personal vocal performance; judge for yourself.

Once the clip has loaded 😉

First post, of sorts :-)

I think I’ve got this sussed, til further notice, or change.

So, if you happen to have seen something here before , and it’s not in this particular spot, I either got tired of it, moved it to a different spot or lost it  😉

A northern hemisphere eye and mind, commenting on the southern hemisphere lifestyle and all sorts of other stuff too, of course.

So, this is home: windswept, isolated and breathtakingly beautiful.
